about

Inspired by a visit to the Drum Museum in Asakusa, Tokyo, this is a playful and joyous foray into post-punk pop territory whilst not losing sight of the dancefloor. Opening with plaintive synths and an electric guitar motif, duelling guitar arpeggios create an urgency which ushers in a bassline that tips a hat to John Carpenter. But instead of simmering dread we enter the second half cutting the rug as taiko drums whip up dance energy and the vocal samples bounce around with orchestral brass in granular echoing ricochets.
